CONCLUSIONS
The consumption of
drugs and hallucinogens in young people in the city of Medellin has become a
germ contaminates and negatively influences society, affecting morality,
coexistence, social, performance and retention in the study centers and is a
source of chaos as theft, murder, creating combos, family breakdown, violence
against women, early pregnancy, among others.
Drug consumption
makes young people no longer want to play productive activities such as study,
work, household formation and are dedicated to improving the ego (too much
focus on appearance, behavior, maternal or paternal dependence and too
self-centered).
THEORETICAL BACKGROUND
Several studies
indicate that within the illegal drug Marijuana consumption is what is most
popular among young people of the city, followed by cocaine and the bazooka.
Meanwhile alcohol, cigarettes and tranquilizers are drugs commonly used legal
consumer. The abstention rate of marijuana among young people of the city
varies, according to some sources, between seventy and seventy-nine percent in
the case of men, and between eighty-eight and ninety-three percent for women,
while the rate of abstention from cocaine is among eighty-six ninety-four
percent, and ninety-seven and ninety-nine point five percent, respectively.
Although always going
to be difficult for someone close to us is a drug addict, one must keep in mind
that led him to this. Here are five reasons that may have fallen into drug
addiction.
1. to feel more and make their own decisions
2. to be accepted
3. to relax and feel good
4. because it attracts the risk and is a sign of
rebellion
5. out of curiosity.
The addiction to illicit drugs, alcohol and even certain drugs used in medicine as tranquilizers or painkillers, and are known as psychoactive, is one of the issues most important public health worldwide.
It may fall from children and teens up to adults, regardless of their social class or educational level. Moreover, the medical community views addiction as a chronic disorder that affects nerve cells responsible for the mental processes of thinking, reasoning, will and pleasure.
The addict is not addicted voluntarily, rather it is the victim of a set of organizational and environmental circumstances that lead him to pursue a course of conduct and a way of life that if you can leave, it is very difficult.
In fact, at present rates of addiction to different substances mentioned are so alarming, that its impact, in addition to affecting the peace and family economy, are an item high on the budget, particularly in regards to medical research, prevention and rehabilitation of addicts. Only in the United States, for example, investment in recent years has been 80 billion dollars annually.
That is why we work on prevention is one of the most urgent tasks of society, beginning with the family, they must be adequately informed of the "options" that are in the streets, in the circles of friends, in schools and universities.
Seeking a way out ...
Being a disease and not just a habit or an addiction, addiction to psychoactive substances demand specialized treatment and family support, but, above all, will and desire to overcome it from one who is ill.
The therapy process is managed by a team involving the general practitioner, psychologists and psychiatrists, who, along with family members around the patient, give you the support you need to overcome drug dependency.
The strategy chosen and the time required for its implementation will depend on the severity of each patient's problem. Moreover, even if the addict gets out ahead and leave the consumption of addictive substances, must be aware of their disease, although it has been treated, it can be cured. By comparison, the addiction is like diabetes or hypertension, are not cured but are handled with the help of medical and patient self-management.
